I got the aftermarket high performance ignition coil, "WAKO SUPER Z COIL, GOLD" and installed it into my Volkswagen Mk2 Golf.
"WAKO SUPER Z COIL, GOLD"
And this is the existing ignition coil. It is made by BOSCH, as you know. Regarding the removal of the existing coil, It is only to remove the center cable of the spark plug wires, +/- cables and the bracket of the coil. It is very easy.
After that, remove the +/- connectors of the old coil and install them into new coil.
After that, only simply install it into the former place. Strictly speaking, the old and new ignition cable connector of coils made in different sizes. So there is need to change the size of connector for ignition cable.
But my VW Golf Mk2's spark plug wires is the aftermarket parts, "Nagai Silicone Spark Plug Wires". So it is possible to fix firmly by putting a copper wire around the connector.
I should have taken the pic of the inside of connector. But it's so tight after installation...
So I took this pic. Please see below.
Finished!
I definitely felt the difference!!
Since this is high performance ignition coil, it increased firepower and gave quick response. So I personally think that my VW Golf Mk2 increased torque in the all range and got more horsepower. (Especially, low and middle range is very good feeling.)
